Does the number of hours of practice account for success? The short answer is no. In fact, reducing the number of hours of practice might actually make you more productive. Read on to know more about how much time you should spend each day to achieve success.

The 5hr Work Day

Studies have shown the ideal work day should be about five hours long. Some studies have even suggested that the human mind is designed to be productive for less than three hours a day! So, if you are preparing for an exam - peak preparation happens only for 3hrs. Any more time spent on preparation is likely to be wasted.

Do not burning time on 'Practice'

Most students waste time in pointless practice. The first rule of preparation is that it should be about learning. Not repetition. Repetition only leads to boredom and not expertice or proficiency.

Rule for repetition

If you want to repeat an exercise - do it after you know how to do it. Repetitively doing the same thing over and over again - without doing it right will lead to stress and injury. Your mind is just like your body. If you are doing something wrong - stop. Get it right. Once you get it right, then repeat.
