Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The bar chart presents the results of a survey on 10 factors that affect work performance. The survey looks at two age ranges: 18 to 30 and 45 to 60.
Of the 10 presented factors, money, work environment, having a competent boss, job satisfaction, and team spirit were areas that showed similar trends across both age groups. Of these 5, almost 70% of the respondents considered money to be an important factor affecting performance at work. This was closely followed by team spirit (65%), having a competent boss (60%), and job satisfaction (58%). Having a good work environment ranked the lowest among the five with only 30% of the individuals from both age groups feeling that it affected performance.
Respect from colleagues fell midway with close to 50% of the older population and 45% of the younger population feeling it affected their work performance.
The figures for other factors varied considerable. While almost all of the younger population considered a chance for personal development (95%) to be an important factor affecting performance, only 40% of the older lot thought it was important. The trend was similar with regards to having a relaxed work environment. 90% of the younger age group thought it affected work. However only 30% of the older age group felt so.
The next in line was promotion prospects. 85% of those aged 18-30 thought this was an important factor, while only 50% of the older group ranked this as important. While half of the younger respondents though job security mattered, it had support from the smallest proportion (20%) of the older respondents.
